New dynamic duo Mikey Bustos and Chicharron ni Mang Juan mixes tradition with modern taste

In a press conference recently held at Bar One in Holiday Inn Galleria Suites, Fil-Canadian Youtube sensation Mikey Bustos was introduced as the face of Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) newest snack brand, Jack ‘n Jill’s Chicharron ni Mang Juan. A triple threat in the online entertainment scene through his YouTube channel Mikey Bustos Daily Videos, Mikey sings, acts and does comedy with the ease of a natural-born performer.

He first captivated Filipino audiences all over the world with his online “Pinoy tutorials”, in which he shares his quirky observations on aspects of Filipino life¾from distinct Filipino accents to local courtship customs. His string of viral hits paved the way for internet celebrity status, with him gaining thousands of followers and fans on all his YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Today, he brings his spicy humor and trademark Pinoy charm to Philippine showbiz as the product endorser for Jack ‘n Jill’s Chicharron ni Mang Juan.

“A product like Chicharron ni Mang Juan calls for an endorser who is just as innovative and dynamic in his craft, but embodying the well-loved Filipino values that give life to our country and culture,” says Vice President for URC Snack Foods Teree Eugenio Jr. during the press conference. “URC warmly welcomed me into the family,” shares Mikey.

He attributes his growing local success to the support of his Pinoy fans: “I think my ability to connect with my inner Filipino -- and be proud of it -- and putting it out there on an international media like YouTube really caused Filipinos worldwide to identify and really embrace the tutorials and me.” Chicharron ni Mang Juan has truly found its perfect match in Mikey as they both embody that old school Pinoy quality with a modern twist. And just like Chicharron ni Mang Juan, Mikey Bustos’ brand of entertainment always leaves Pinoy fans wanting more. The “no pork” chicharron, Chicharron ni Mang Juan is available in three exciting, uniquely Pinoy flavors—Espesyal Sukang Paombong, Espesyal Suka’t Sili and Spicy Sisig.
